Disgraced former CIA agent Cort "The Gray Man" Gentry makes ends meet by working as a hitman for people he can't trust. Russian arms dealer Sidorenko orders Cort to assassinate Sudanese President Abboud, the man responsible for the genocide in Darfur. However, suddenly an old CIA comrade, whom he had long believed dead, comes across Cort and makes a counter-offer: to kidnap Abboud and hand him over to American officials in exchange for an amnesty. Gentry cannot refuse and heads to Sudan. Now the Gray Man will have to complete an impossible task, which becomes more difficult every hour due to constant misinformation from customers, outright lies, poor planning, betrayal and plain bad luck.
