The Decembrist uprising is still commonly represented as a purely internal phenomenon, as a performance by a group of opposition officers who were carried away by the ideas of European reforms. The famous writer-historian Valery Shambarov in his new work “Who stood behind the Decembrists” shows that this rebellion cannot be considered separately , he was part of a whole network of related conspiracies, including the Polish one. For the first time, evidence is provided of the connections of the Decembrists with the Western powers, primarily with England, which widely launched international subversive operations to “export revolutions” from the beginning of the 19th century.
