Fritz Reuther Leiber Jr., born into a family of actors - emigrants from Germany, became one of the brightest stars of the "Golden Age" of science fiction. Leiber's literary legacy has earned him six Nebula Awards, four Hugo Awards, three World Fantasy Awards, and many other honors. As a result of his work, he received the title “Grandmaster of Science Fiction.” But Leiber’s contribution to mystical literature is also great; it is not without reason that he is considered one of the creators of the modern form of this genre. He was greatly influenced by the works of Howard Lovecraft, from whom he enthusiastically studied and whose work he actively popularized. This book contains his best supernatural stories, including those written in the style of Lovecraft. The novel “The Witch,” which won the Hugo Award and is considered a classic of mysticism, has been filmed several times. Most of the works included in the collection are published in Russian for the first time.
