Everyone knows the Pepper family in Bartonshire. For 900 years, generations of these most eccentric lords in the history of England have lived in their estate, collected hats, arranged high-speed descents on the railings and stubbornly ignored any problems around them. So when the head of the local Council decides to appropriate the old house of the Peppers, Havchyk - a mongrel with long ears and a big heart - has to protect his native home.
