A young woman named Kiko moves to a small town by the sea. She settles in a house that has been empty for a long time, doesn’t work anywhere, has a scar on her stomach, and local residents begin to gossip about whether she escaped from Tokyo from the Yakuza. Kiko experiences the loss of a friend and at night plays in her headphones the voice of a fifty-two hertz whale - the loneliest creature in the world.
