The main work of the Byzantine philosopher, theologian, historian, astronomer and writer Nikifor Grigora (Νικηφόρος Γρηγοράς) includes 37 books and covers the period from 1204 to 1359. The author describes in most detail the historical figures of his time and the events he witnessed (and often participated in) of which he was like a person close to the imperial court. Grigora displays impressive scrupulousness, but his style is pompous and tendentious. More than close attention is paid to religious issues and dogmatic disputes. Three volumes under one cover.
