The book offered to readers includes two works by the famous Russian historian S.P. Melgunov “Red Terror in Russia” and “Golden German Key of the Bolsheviks.” In emigration, Melgunov was destined to become one of the main chroniclers of the Civil War in Russia; he paid special attention to the violence generated by the revolution: “Both red and white terror are hateful to me. But the Red Terror is painful for me because I am a socialist and indirectly accept responsibility for what is happening here.” In his works, S.P. Melgunov tried to be objective and use all available materials, but, as he himself pointed out, he often lacked facts. Despite this, the works offered to the reader remain relevant to this day.
