Konstantin Dmitrievich Balmont (1867–1942) was a Russian symbolist poet and translator, a prominent representative of the Silver Age. It was with him that Russian symbolism began. Balmont’s poems are amazingly musical, it’s not for nothing that he was called “Paganini of Russian verse.” His poetry is permeated with romance, spirituality, and beauty. It is free from conventions, love and life are glorified even in such terrible years as 1905 or 1914. The collected works of Konstantin Dmitrievich is an exquisite collection of the most significant and most beautiful works of Russian poetry, which brought him Russian and world fame. The works included in the Collected Works give the most complete picture of all facets of the work of Balmont - the wizard of words. The fifth and sixth volumes include Balmont's prose works, essays, notes, impressions and thoughts.
