A peculiar novel in verse by the Spanish humanist writer Juan Ruiz (1283 - ca. 1350). It has been fully translated into Russian for the first time. The novel in verse “The Book of Good Love” is a unique work in the history of not only Spanish, but also European literature. The “book” is written in the first person and tells about the love adventures of a cheerful cleric who calls himself Juan Ruiz, archpresbyter (senior priest) from Ita. Mikhail Aleksandrovich Donskoy (1913-1996) worked on the translation, as he himself writes in the article “From the Translator ", at least fifteen years.
