We bring to the attention of the reader the memoirs of Captain 1st Rank Gustav Konstantinovich von Schultz, the official representative of the Russian fleet in the English Grand Fleet in 1915-18, are of undoubted interest for everyone who is in one way or another fascinated by military and naval history. Throughout the 1920s, the book went through more than six editions in five languages and was a kind of bestseller at that time. The author turned out to be the only representative of the allied fleets at the Grand Fleet who came forward with his memoirs. Being at that time already an experienced sailor and a competent specialist in various fields of naval affairs, he left an unusually vivid and realistic description of the people, the entire environment and events that he was lucky enough to witness.
