In Russian History the army has always played the most important role. Therefore, not only the significant events associated with her are interesting, but also her outwardly imperceptible inner everyday life. The collection displays fragments of army everyday life, both peacetime and wartime. The heroes of the stories are soldiers and officers who participated in the Great Patriotic and Chechen wars, cadets of military schools, Soviet military personnel and members of their families serving in remote garrisons. The stories are written both on the basis of the author’s own experience as a soldier, cadet and officer, as well as what he learned from his relatives, colleagues, and acquaintances.
