The textbook was developed on the basis of a course of lectures “Liturgical Charter and Hymnography”, intended for students of the Faculty of Additional Education of PSTGU. The manual sets out in an accessible form the basic rules for performing divine services in accordance with the current Charter of the Orthodox Church. The course “Liturgical Rules and Hymnography” is not aimed at teaching the practical performance of services, its purpose is to help students more consciously participate in public worship, to promote the perception of liturgical tradition Orthodoxy as a whole. Therefore, the manual pays special attention to explaining the meaning of the sacred rites performed and the content of church hymns, and the statutory rules are stated as briefly as possible. The anthology contains diagrams of services, texts of chants studied in the course, words for Holy Pascha by St. Gregory the Theologian, fragments of the works of famous liturgists of the 20th century and other materials necessary for the successful development of the course. As a source of initial, basic information about the Divine Service Rules, the manual can be useful to students of theological universities, students of theological courses, as well as to all students of Orthodox worship on their own.< /p>
