The book was born from a now popular joke, in which one of us published a parody article in the American cultural journal Social Text, stuffed with meaningless, but, unfortunately, reliable quotes about physics and mathematics from famous French and American intellectuals......what exactly do we want achieve? Not so much, but not so little either. We show that such famous intellectuals as Lacan, Kristeva, Irigaray, Baudrillard and Deleuze have repeatedly abused scientific concepts and terminology: or using scientific ideas completely out of context, without any justification - we note that we are not against the transfer of concepts from one field to another. another, and object only to such unfounded transfers - or by boasting of scientific jargon in front of our readers who are not scientists, without paying any attention to its adequacy and even meaning. We do not believe that this detracts from the significance of the rest of their work, which we do not undertake to judge. An afterword by Dmitry Kralechkin has been added, which, contrary to the wishes of the translators, was not included in the official publication of the book, which has now become a rarity.
