The creator of the Moomins, Tove Jansson, can rightfully be called one of the most mysterious writers of the last century. Laconically and honestly talking about everyday life, Jansson seemed to be compiling instructions for her life, not forgetting to fill her works with autobiographical details. She grew up in a creative family: her mother was an illustrator and her father was a sculptor. Tove herself began drawing at the age of fifteen and dreamed of becoming an artist, not a writer. She succeeded in both. The book includes the stories “Honest Deception” (1982) and “Stone Field” (1984), as well as a collection of short stories and miniatures “She Who Knows How to Listen” (1971).
