Scientific edition of the “Easter Chronicle” by an anonymous author of the 7th century. for the first time published in a modern European language in full. The “Easter Chronicle” was created by an experienced Easter scholar, who, to confirm his Great Indiction, wrote a worldwide chronicle from Adam to the 20th year of the reign of the Byzantine emperor Heraclius. Anonymous drew on the chronicles of Hippolytus of Rome, Eusebius Pamphilus, John Malala, and the Holy Scriptures. To comment on historical material, he used the works of the Church Fathers and documents of the Ecumenical Councils. Information about the events of the 6th–7th centuries is an important historical source. The publication of the “Easter Chronicle” (Part I: From Adam to Terah) is intended for those who are interested in late antique and early Byzantine history, problems of the early Christian Church and theology.
