A collection of memoirs and interviews with Leningraders whose childhood and youth occurred in the 1920s and 1930s. Among the interviewees are people of various backgrounds - workers, housekeepers, production managers, party nominees; All of them, however, are united by the fact that they belong to a social class whose members do not leave behind written monuments (memoirs, etc.), which makes the book a most valuable collection of evidence about the early Soviet era. The focus of all interviews is not the political situation in the USSR in the 1930s, but the everyday life of ordinary citizens.
