Father Alexander Men (1935–1990) is one of the outstanding people of Russia in the second half of the 20th century. We can say that he became the spiritual shepherd of an entire generation and, in the eyes of a huge number of people, was the moral leader of the country. A rare understanding of another's soul was a special gift of Father Alexander. His ardent love was felt by each of his spiritual children, among whom is the author of this book. The moral authority of Father Alexander at some point turned out to be stronger than the authorities. He was killed just when he had the opportunity to preach to millions of people. This book tells about the life and tragic death of Father Alexander Men. According to the testimony of many contemporaries, his life revealed the gospel ideal and therefore forever entered the history of the Church. The apostolic mission he accepted far outlasted his short life. For his sermon, the fiery word about the living Christ, is addressed not only to his contemporaries, but also to future generations of people.
