The book is the first publication in Russian of a commentary by the most famous scholar of the late Platonic Academy, Proclus, on the most important dialogue for Neoplatonism (and for the entire further development of world philosophical thought) of Plato’s dialogue - “Parmenides”. The theoretical aspects of the metaphysical teachings of Neoplatonism in the published work are associated with the theological constructions of ancient Hellas and with the eastern mystical teachings of the beginning of our era. Proclus demonstrates a profound understanding of Plato's text and sheds light on issues that are controversial even in modern science. Interpretation of "Parmenides" (attempts of which are so popular these days) is simply impossible without reading in detail Proclus' commentary on this dialogue. The publication is intended for specialists in the field of the history of philosophy, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in the spiritual culture of late antiquity.
