The author is not a big fan of dogs, but at the request of her husband, the owner and adorer of a black Labrador, she wrote a collection of short stories dedicated to Hannibal. The story is told both from the perspective of the owner, who has a cool attitude towards her husband’s pet, and from the perspective of the dog himself, who has discovered the ability to think and even judge human life. The hero of this story slowly talks about other dogs, cats and rabbits, about children growing up and the meaning of life. It is unlikely that the reader will take the side of the owner, who is intolerant of a nice and charming animal. But I hope he will at least show a little sympathy for this essentially excellent woman!
