Germany, XVI century. Ships disappeared in the North Sea, which is why there were legends among people about the Black Waters - a lagoon of sirens slaughtering sailors. The main character is the siren Shives, who is tired of luring people to their deaths at the whim of predatory mermaids. All her life she has shown a special interest in the human race, and during one of the hunts she saves a young man, a hanged fugitive, after which she becomes imbued with the desire to leave the sea forever. The girl has a long way to go in life before she understands that, having escaped from some predators, she ended up with others. Contains obscene language.
