Russian fantastic prose of the Silver Age still remains terra incognita - a blank spot on the literary map. Many wonderful works by both prominent and less famous authors are still buried on the pages of books and magazines from the late 19th to the first decades of the 20th century. They are often unknown even to specialists, not to mention a wide range of readers. This rich and most interesting layer of literature of the Silver Age still remains in undeserved oblivion. The anthology “Fiction of the Silver Age” is intended to fill the gap. The fantastic literature of the era is presented in all its diversity: here are rare fantastic, mystical and occult stories and novellas, and examples of “strict” science fiction, horror, gothic, fairy tales and legends. The reader will find in the anthology both rare works of famous writers and works of practically unknown, but no less interesting writers. A significant part of the works is being republished for the first time. The book is supplemented with original illustrations by the leading book graphic artists of the era and provided with detailed comments.
