1377. One of the co-rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Olgerd, dies. In his last hour, he transfers the grand ducal title to Vladislav Jogaila. Vladislav’s uncle, Keistut, supports this choice, but Yagaila’s older brothers, Andrei and Dmitry, oppose it. For the brothers, the struggle ends unsuccessfully, and both are forced to flee to the Moscow prince. Having gotten rid of his older brothers, Jagiello decides to become the sole ruler of Lithuania. The only obstacle to this plan is Uncle Keistut. To eliminate a relative, Jagiello enters into an alliance with the Teutonic Order and the White Horde. After many intrigues, Yagaila manages to physically destroy Keistut. The same fate awaited Keistut’s son, Vitovt, but he escapes from prison after exchanging dresses with Elena, his wife’s maid. And again the eternal struggle for power breaks out, in which, as we know, all means are good...
