“Our little saint, Matronushka” - this is how people affectionately call one of the most beloved and revered saints, Blessed Matrona of Moscow. Born blind, she was endowed by God with the great gift of miracles and foresight. The suffering came to her in an endless stream, and she refused to help anyone: with her prayers she healed, warded off misfortune, fought for every soul, saving thousands of people in the most difficult years of the revolution, war, and Stalinist repressions. And before her death she said: “As I accepted, so I will accept, talk to me, confide all your sorrows to me, I will see and hear you, and whatever I tell your soul, do it.” More than half a century has passed since her death, but again streams of people come and go to Matronushka - both to her grave at the Danilovsky cemetery, and to the Intercession Monastery, to venerate her image and holy relics. To this day, a great many miracles are happening through the prayers of Saint Matrona of Moscow. Believers know: we should never lose heart or despair, because we have an intercessor in heaven who knows how to avert any misfortune.
