A bright, cheerful, very summer book of poems. There is a lot of light, air, sea, clouds - everything that makes happy days of rest memorable. Seen through the fresh, slightly mischievous eyes of a child, the world around us appears here in new colors and images. A storm is a big cleanup (“The sea was washed with the foam of the rocks...”), thunder before the rain is the last warning (“The clouds were thundering through the loudspeakers...”), and “The Song about Soup,” which is fed to the baby, is a funny game. And the author is also excellent at listening to familiar words, rediscovering them for the reader (“Polyglot”, “Concrete Mixer”. “Moonlight Dacha”).
