This is how it happens in life: from one chance meeting a whole story emerged, reminiscent of a detective story! 13-year-old Stasya ran into Yakov Semenovich, a new librarian, and he invited her to a literary circle. Of course, Stasya invited Romka, a good friend whose family was in trouble, to somehow distract her. “Draw snow on one sheet of paper and night on the other,” was the strange assignment Yakov Semenovich gave at the first lesson. . And wow, everyone dealt with it differently! There were other amazing tasks - for example, delving into the history of Anton Petrovich Startsev. This is the same traitor whom people in Ozhsk remember from the war. It would seem that everything about Startsev has been known for a long time, but the librarian Yakov Semenovich managed to reach the teenagers and correctly pose the main question: “Is Startsev a traitor?” – and the thirst for justice truly revived the guys. Stasya and her friends discover the missing pieces of the puzzle - details for which it is even worth sneaking into the director's office... As we move towards solving the main intrigue, the reader, like the heroes of the story, tries on the fates of many people. The past turns out to be more complicated than it seemed, and so is the present. “Colorful Snow” is an addictive and at the same time subtle work, requiring pauses for reflection. Natalia Volkova's story was included in the final list of the prize named after. V. P. Krapivina - 2017 and was awarded a special prize from Yekaterinburg libraries. Natalia Volkova (born in 1977) has dozens of popular books for children and teenagers, numerous awards and victories in competitions (named after A. Tolstoy, named after P. Ershov, named after K. Vasiliev, named after S. Mikhalkov, etc.). She creates not only fiction and poetry, but also non-fiction: her encyclopedias are read by schoolchildren all over Russia. The ability to turn a vast collection of facts into an entertaining text also helps the writer in the story “Colorful Snow”: the book captivates so much that you can’t put it down, and encourages you to take a closer look at historical events.
