An expedition flying from Earth to another star system encounters something incredible in space: a bowl-shaped structure the size of the Solar System, inside of which, like an engine, a star burns. Quite quickly it turns out that the Chalice is inhabited. But where is she going? And who created it? A team of researchers is sent to the site, but First Contact doesn't go at all according to plan.
