Remember what was a sign of prosperity 40–50 years ago? That's right - ficus. It was perhaps impossible to imagine a single family without this tree in a tub. And it moved on a truck along with shelves and a dressing table, and occupied its own, special place in the room, and they treated it as a full-fledged piece of furniture, wiping dust from the large varnished leaves with a rag when cleaning... And then the ficus turned into a symbol of philistinism. How many sarcastic words were directed at the generally harmless tree! And the ficus gradually disappeared from our apartments. It's a pity. However, times, fortunately, have changed, and so has the attitude towards ficus trees. It turned out that there are a great many genera of these plants, and it also turned out that a tree in a tub is very beautiful, modern, and stylish. This book talks about growing “house trees,” which are among the most popular container plants. Many of them are well known to everyone - the already mentioned various ficuses, oleander, myrtle, hibiscus. There is also information here about aucuba japonica, hebe, and brachychiton, which are still exotic for us. In a word, this book will be useful both for beginning amateur flower growers and for those who consider themselves an expert in this field.
