Long before meeting the Avengers, young Loki struggles to prove that he is a hero and brave, although everyone around him invariably sees only deceit and cruelty in his antics. Everyone except Amora. Amora studies in Asgard with a powerful sorceress, and Loki feels a kindred spirit in her, because the girl also values magic and knowledge and, perhaps, sees something good in Odin’s youngest son. However, when through the fault of Loki and Amora One of the most valuable artifacts of Asgard is destroyed, Amora is expelled from heaven to Earth, where magical powers slowly and painfully leave the young sorceress. Without his only friend, who saw his magic as a gift rather than a threat, Loki suffers and gradually retreats into the shadow of his beloved brother Thor. When a series of mysterious murders sweep across the Earth, leaving the magical mark of Asgard, Odin sends Loki to find out what is happening. Finding himself in nineteenth-century London, he embarks on a journey that will lead not just to the alleged murderer, but will point the way to the source of his own magic and tell him what fate has destined for him.
