The book attempts to understand what place the phenomenon of denunciations and revelations occupied in Soviet Stalinist society - both in moments of crisis and in moments of relative calm. What is the role of family and kinship relationships in such practices? Denunciations and revelations (both voluntary and forced) were considered support for the regime and cooperation with it. Were such actions selfish? To what extent was denunciation necessary for the state and individual citizens? Are we talking here about denunciation in the full sense of the word? The author’s intentions do not include the rehabilitation of informers and denunciation in the USSR. The book attempts to outline the boundaries of this phenomenon and describe it as objectively as possible. The book is of interest both to historical researchers and to a wide range of readers interested in the history of Russia.
