In the final part of the trilogy about Doctor Garin, Vladimir Sorokin draws the next stage of post-apocalyptic decay, even more distant from us. But its reality paradoxically seems much more recognizable. True, we do not immediately recognize the main character, but he still, as befits a doctor, remains an example of dignity and humanity. The train, an unchanging image connecting Russian, Soviet and post-Soviet literature, goes from east to west. Its fuel is people, not in a metaphorical sense, but in a literal sense, and they have nowhere else to run. But the wonderful doctor and his unusual heirs give hope that the maddened world has not only an end, but also a happier continuation.

"Спадщина" - це не просто завершення трилогії, а справжня літературна подорож у темряву людських душ і суспільства, що пережило катастрофу. Володимир Сорокін майстерно малює картину світу, де насильство стало нормою, а толерантність до нього - епідемією. Проте, незважаючи на всю безнадію, він показує, що людяність і гідність можуть вижити навіть у найскладніших умовах. Головний герой, лікар, стає символом надії, і його боротьба за збереження людських цінностей в умовах хаосу вражає до глибини душі. Сюжет наповнений напруженими моментами, які змушують задуматися про моральні аспекти життя в умовах апокаліпсису. Книга залишає після себе безліч питань і роздумів, а також надію на те, що навіть у найтемніші часи є можливість для нового початку. Рекомендую всім, хто цінує якісну літературу з глибоким змістом!
