Maurice Blanchot is one of the most original thinkers of our century. Michel Foucault wanted to write “like Blanchot” in his youth; Jacques Derrida devotes a book of one and a half hundred pages to the analysis of Blanchot's autobiographical text, which fits on one and a half computer pages - this is how the rulers of the thoughts of the new century react to the modest and concentrated thought of Maurice Blanchot. “Waiting for Oblivion” is the last of the writer’s major artistic works; here he first tests the so-called fragmentary letter, which later became famous (in particular, by Roland Barthes and Jacques Derrida).
