The cemetery “Muchin Krest” was a place where dead and deceased prisoners were buried and was located not far from the Yakut prison. “Muchin Cross” was also considered a cemetery for the poor: in addition to prisoners, tramps who froze on the street or died from illness were taken there. The actual boundaries of this cemetery are unknown. The estimated area on the map of modern Yakutsk corresponds to the 140th quarter (from the intersection of Dzerzhinsky and F. Popov streets and almost to Kalvitsa street).
