Elena Ferrari (O. F. Golubovskaya, 1889-1938), who appeared in 1923 with the poetry collection “Erifilli” reproduced here, was a prominent figure in “Russian Berlin” during its rapid heyday. Her literary debuts aroused the keen interest of M. Gorky and V. Shklovsky. Participation in the meetings of the House of Arts made Elena Ferrari one of the most active figures of Russian literary and artistic life in Berlin on the eve of her unexpected return to Soviet Russia in 1923. Afterword by L. S. Fleishman “Terrorist Poetess”, revealing the historical and literary significance of poetic activity Elena Ferrari, also throws light on the “shadow”, little-known circumstances of her mysterious biography.
