The book by the famous Soviet prose writer Fyodor Aleksandrovich Abramov (1920-1983) includes the novels “Brothers and Sisters” and “Two Winters and Three Summers”, which, according to the author’s plan, are both independent works and parts of the tetralogy “Brothers and Sisters”. The first novel, dedicated to the life of a Russian village during the Great Patriotic War, is based on a story about the Pekashin family of the Pryaslins, the second is based on a story about the difficult fate of the post-war Pekashin - the complex experiences and contradictory actions of a simple peasant assigned to rule people.
