The book presents the novels “Crossroads” and “Home”, which, according to the author’s plan, are independent works and at the same time parts of the tetralogy “Brothers and Sisters”. The action of the first novel takes place in the early 1950s - this is another episode from the history of the village of Pekashino, revealing negative changes in the consciousness of the Russian peasant due to short-sighted government policy that does not allow the rural worker to benefit from the results of his labor. The second novel, dedicated to events in the same village in the 1970s, shows all aspects of human existence - the personal life of a family, social and moral problems of society, attempts to preserve the original national characteristics of our people.
