Ritual symbols, runes, mysterious signs, emblems with hidden meanings have attracted various types of researchers like a magnet for many centuries. It was assumed that symbols could have invisible power over people or be part of lost knowledge. The SS research society “Ancestors' Heritage”, created in 1935, from the very beginning was engaged not only in the search for these symbols, but also in their interpretation. This was one of the central directions in the activities of the first president of the “Heritage of Ancestors” Herman Wirth. The book by historian Andrei Vasilchenko tells how National Socialist heraldry was formed. In addition, original developments that belonged to the head of the tribal symbolism department of the “Heritage of Ancestors” Karl Konrad Ruppel are presented. This book begins the systematic publication of documents from the “Heritage of the Ancestors”, which will shed light on this mysterious organization.
