2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Yaroslavl uprising, which became one of the first acts of the Civil War in Russia. As a result of a three-week confrontation between white rebels and units of the Red Army, in the conditions of urban development, Yaroslavl, which flourished before the revolution, was practically wiped off the face of the earth. Thousands of civilians died from stray bullets, artillery shells, fires, hunger and disease. The number of victims of the terror to which both warring sides resorted was also great. Soviet historians did not pay much attention to the Yaroslavl uprising, because they did not feel the desire to answer uncomfortable questions. For many years, local enthusiasts were engaged in research into the events of July 1918. This book is a unique result of their work and covers the history of the Yaroslavl uprising from the most objective position.
