In 1969, the magazine “Journalist” published a libel by a certain Ivan the Red-Bryzhiy on the published “changeover” collection of the Strugatsky brothers. Several people tried to respond to the publication of this lampoon. Among them was Samuil Lurie. On March 24, 1969, Boris Natanovich wrote to his brother: “Sasha (that was the name of Samuil Aronovich’s friends and relatives) Lurie wrote a brilliant feuilleton about Krasnobryzhy here. I read and laughed like a fool. But where to place it is unknown. At Neva, the main one said: it’s inconvenient, because we publish the Strugatskys. In “Zvezda”: it’s inconvenient, a “Journalist” correspondent has come to us and will write about us. Sasha contacted a friend from LitGaz, who said: send it, I’ll show it to the boss, but it’s unlikely; Now is not the time to argue with the “Journalist”. In general, I’ll soon send you this article, and you try to use Dimka’s connections in Komsomolskaya Pravda (who the hell isn’t joking! After all, MolGv is their publishing house) and I. Solovyov in Lit. Russia.” This feuilleton by Lurie was not published. In 2013, we (representatives of the group of researchers of the Strugatskys’ work “Ludens”) turned to Samuil Aronovich with a request to find this text. He found it, authorized it and handed it over to us. In memory of a wonderful person, we publish this text.
