Interpretation of the prayer “Our Father” by Saint Macarius (Notara). Translation from Modern Greek: editors of the online publication “Pemptousia” ( Macarius (Notara) (1731–1805), Metropolitan of Corinth. Memory January 19 (Greek), April 17 (Greek) Born in Trikala Corinth in 1731. He labored on the island of Chios. He visited the Idra Monastery, located near his place of residence, in honor of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Saint Macarius was one of the inspirers of the Kollivad movement, which renewed ancient ascetic traditions in Mount Athos and the Greek East. The saint died in Chios in 1805. The monk’s monastery has survived to this day outside the walls of the city of Hydra (his body was transferred to this monastery), and in the city there is a square named after him. The saint's grave is located on the island of Chios, his holy head is in the Icarian Monastery of the Annunciation, and part of the relics are in Trikala of Corinth and in Corinth, donated by Metropolitan Panteleimon of Corinth and enclosed in a silver shrine.
