The Russian tourist, the main character of the story Pyotr Butaforin, who by the will of fate became Pierrot, finds himself in the company of disguised Italians and experiences a number of wonderful adventures. It all feels like a dream. All this is a dream, as it turns out at the end. Butaforin is a stranger at this celebration of life. Although Monica gives him her love, he does not fit in with the foreign company and Giuseppe-Harlequin kills him. Kills in a whimsical way, just as it should in a dream. On the cover is Kees van Dongen's painting "The Embankment" from 1921. Contains obscene language.
