One unremarkable, but very tragic day, the children learn that their parents have died. There are plenty of people who want to take in orphans, but the most terrible among them all is the cynical villain Count Olaf. He follows the Baudelaires wherever they go. Troubles fall on children's heads like confetti from a firecracker. And only fortitude and mutual assistance help Violet, Klaus and Sunny get out of trouble over and over again. Dark humorous stories about the adventures of the Baudelaire children became so popular all over the world that they formed the basis of the film “Lemony Snicket. 33 Unfortunate Events”, starring Jim Carrey, Jude Law and Meryl Streep. More recently, Netflix filmed a series of the same name. It stars Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes. The release of the third season is scheduled for 2019. The first volume of “Misadventures Begin” includes four stories in the series: “A Bad Beginning,” “The Serpentine Hall,” “The Enormous Window,” and “The Sinister Sawmill.”
