The monograph analyzes the grain procurement policy of the Bolshevik regime in the late 1920s, within the framework of which a transition was made from NEP methods of regulating the agricultural economy to emergency ones. Based on a wide range of sources, a detailed reconstruction of the course of the procurement campaigns of 1927/28, 1928/29 and 1929/30 was carried out. in one of the main grain-producing regions of the country - Siberia. The author pays special attention to the consideration of J.V. Stalin’s trip to Siberia at the beginning of 1928, the genesis of the Ural-Siberian method of grain procurement, and the behavioral strategies of the peasantry.
