Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez, 1599–1660) is the greatest Spanish realist artist who laid the foundations of psychological portraiture in European art. From 1623 - court painter of King Philip IV. Velázquez's painting is distinguished by the courage of realistic observations, the ability to penetrate into the character of the model, a heightened sense of harmony, subtlety and richness of color.

The final part of the album presents reproductions of 21 works by Velázquez from 1650–1659, as well as works supposedly owned by or erroneously attributed to the artist.
