Apartment hanging: storytelling in stories, novel, stories, swimming / Natalya Galkina. - St. Petersburg: Kolo, 2018. - 512 pp. ISBN 978-5-4462-0109-9 The composition of the eighth prose book “Apartment Hanging” by the poet, prose writer and translator from St. Petersburg Natalya Galkina includes “ storytelling in stories" (B. Nikolsky) "How Far", the novel "The Chief of Everything", new stories, several stories from previous collections and "swimming" "Along Missiri, Mississippi." "How Far" is a kind of collection of essays, form, already familiar to readers from the author’s previous books, which contains stories of different tones (essay, anecdote, tragic, Borgesian retelling of a parable or historical fact) and different lengths (from one sentence to two pages), whose puzzles are put together into a picture of existence. In this book the reader's gaze is presented with either the space of the Karelian Isthmus beach enchanted by Faustian scientific experiments, or the wary silence of a Valdai street, or snow-covered Sviyazhsk; on its pages, aliens are filming a series about the life of earthlings in the style of “spreading cranberries”, a young man sees at night an alien sky full of unusual luminaries, containing frightening moons, the little girl Drop fights evil, and in a distant forest cordon a once-lost garden is ready to be reborn. © Natalya Galkina, text, 2018© Alexander Bravo, photograph by the author© Vera Moiseeva, photograph of the city© P.
