After the Earth fell under the pressure of alien invaders, some of the people survived, but their reign on the planet ended. Hundreds of years later, refuges in the mountains became home to two new races - the mighty bighem savages and the intelligent Albs. A mutant savage named Sigurd loses his community and, accidentally ending up in one of the cities, finds there a civilization of artificial people playing in a grandiose theater of the absurd.
