The book Justified Presence by poet and critic Mikhail Aizenberg includes articles mostly written in recent years. Their cross-cutting theme is the current state of Russian poetry, which the author understands as qualitatively and fundamentally new. The analysis of particular poetics and personalities gradually brings the consideration to a more general level - to a description of the symptoms of a new poetic consciousness. To the question “what is poetry today”, the author does not give an unambiguous answer, but does not shy away from it either.
