The Swedes turned out to be fans of delving into unhealthy family relationships, making dark jokes (the heroine of Jonas Gardel’s “Cheek to cheek” works in a funeral home and meets an advertisement with a show business star “for a serious relationship”) and cultivating death (two of the six presented works are called “Parricide” and “The Will to Kill”). In addition, they really know how to write plays - that is, they are good at working out the structure, drawing out characters and twisting the intrigue. True, the trademark dreary phlegmatism could not be avoided, and therefore the monologue of the hero of “Europe in the Morning and Evening” by Rosa Lagerkrantz, who rides on the train and tells what a bitch his wife is, takes up seven pages. But it also gives a chance for the best - the passenger falls in love with the neighbor across the street.
