Boudicca's revolt breaks out in Roman Britain...

60 AD. e. Britannia. The Roman Empire's grip on the province remains fragile. The tribes, tirelessly resisting Rome, became even more insidious in their attacks on the legions. Even among those who have sworn allegiance, murmurs are growing louder. In distant Rome, Nero remains blind to the brewing danger. While the fighting creates greater chaos in the west of the province, the governor Gaius Suetonius Paulinus gathers all possible additional forces to suppress the resistance under the command of Prefect Cato. The hero of countless battles, Cato, wished that his faithful comrade, centurion Macro, would be next to him. However, the propraetor leaves Macro in the rear in charge of the veteran reserve at Camulodunum. Suetonius dismisses fears that a poorly fortified colony would be vulnerable to attack with only a nominal garrison in place. While the regular units of the Roman army are distracted by the war in the west, the slow-burning anger among the local tribes flares into flames. The Iceni king is dead, and the proud kingdom is about to be sacked and annexed by Rome. But the widow - Queen Boudicca - is a woman with the heart of a warrior. If Boudicca defies the Emperor and calls out a fight to the death, the province will turn into a bloodbath. Macro and Cato engage in mortal combat with enemies who would rather die than bow to Roman rule. Britain's future hangs in the balance.
