The action-packed story by G. V. Yakushin begins with dramatic events: during the Great Patriotic War, a counterintelligence officer arrests a deserter; Having escaped, he becomes the leader of the gang and, in revenge on the security officer, involves his ten-year-old son into his gang, giving him the nickname “Wolf”. The narrative develops right up to the present day, showing the difficult liberation of the protagonist from the sins of the past, his ups and downs, the search for the meaning of life, as well as true, unsaleable love. The main character bears the name of the author of the story, in which many famous people are involved, which gives reason to assume the real basis of all events.
