Every year, Max the golden labrador spent several days at the veterinary clinic. It was unpleasant, but tolerable, considering that the owners always returned, and Max always liked new acquaintances. This time his neighbor turned out to be an elderly black Labrador named Madame Curie, a dog with a lot of life experience and a wonderful sense of humor. Time passed unnoticed while talking with her, but suddenly the day came when Max was left alone. No one came to pick him up from the clinic. Nobody brought food. All neighboring cells are empty. Max lived in this nightmare for another whole week and, perhaps, would have simply died locked up if it had not been for a dachshund named Krepysh who ran into the house. His owners also disappeared somewhere. All the people have disappeared. Max, Sturdy and the resilient Yorkie Gizmo, who has joined their company, go on a search. They walk through depopulated lands and abandoned cities where abandoned animals are trying to survive. Max desperately wants to find his family and is sure that Madame Curie could help him with this - he can’t get her words out of his head on the eve of his disappearance. The wise Labrador had a presentiment of something bad and clearly knew something...
